Daily Prompt has mad skills, or ‘skillz’ if you’d rather. And I don’t see why you wouldn’t rather, because you’re cool like that. Right, Digable Planets?
Right! So anyway, what have you will have been gottening for us today, if I may be all futuristic pluperfect conjunctivitis?
If you could choose to be a master (or mistress) of any skill in the world, which skill would you pick?
Clearly there are tons of useful skills to choose from, and we’re not talking about superpowers (I think) so I can’t say ‘flight’ or ‘invisibility’. In my opinion, it boils down to a choice between self-skills, and other-skills. For example, a self-skill would be something like parkour, or dancing, or that thing that starts with ‘f’ and ends with ‘k’ that practically everyone does to one degree or another, with plenty of enjoyment. That’s right. Facebook.
Anyway, to narrow this down, ruling out ‘lottery number choosing’ because that’s too much like a superpower, I think it comes down to the skills of ‘speaking many different languages’ versus ‘healing/medicine’. And I will choose ‘speaking many different languages’, because that’s something I’ve always wanted to do. However, being an American who rarely has the opportunity to practice speaking anything other than English with someone, I have a bunch of phrases I can use, and that’s about it.

hi there, i like your choice. thanks for the ping back also!
Thank you – and you’re welcome
Well, I can’t sew, or speak various languages, or heal magically…or clinically….or at all. So, my mad skill would be acquiring awesome linguistic and verbal skillz…skills? Ugh.
You have master swordsman-like skills with the use of all variants of the word ‘fuck’.
Good point…sounds like my next post.

I was hoping you’d go with Facebooking like a boss.
I’m the boss.
At Facebooking?
No, at life.
Facebook IS life.
Yikes. Not mine.
Hmmm…my sarcasm didn’t seem to get conveyed. How annoying.
Oh yeah, I totally didn’t get the sarcasm there.
That sucks. I shall do better next time.
HA! My sarcasm didn’t come across either.
Well, perhaps we need to invent a sarcasm font.
There used to be a ‘rolleyes’ smilie.
I wish I had that. I roll my eyes all the time.
Groovy song, Ed.
I’m cool like that.
That’s obvious.
You have mad skills Hotspur!! I am lovinggetting to know them better!! I would have to agree with you on the foreign languages, though. Although I was born in the US, my last name couldn’t be more French, so yes, I have French blood from my Grandpa. I am then mixed with Russian blood from my Noni who was born in Russia, but raised in Brooklyn, NY. Since I feel like a lil melting-pot of culture, I have always had a love for other languages. Spanish I speak quite well, but if I could master Russian & French on top of it, I’d feel like quite the “Skilled” young lady!! (Sheesh.. I should have written a freakin post! Sorry Hotspur!) Anyway, Love the post,, totally agree!!
~ Jen
I have a varied background like that, including French, Latvian and Cherokee. Thanks for all your compliments! Coming from you it means a lot.
Awe.. now see, I value your complimentic words very much as well! You’re too kind. (I hope you’re feeling better, yes?) I’m sending some Soulshine your way none-the-less!!
Thanks – very kind of you.
Thanks for the pingback. Come down here to Panama and you can practice Spanish all day long!
Mucho obligato!
I can get my face slapped in about twenty languages, but I can’t spell my own language… I would settle for being able to speel…sppel…spele…speil… oh Facebook it!
What the Facebook!
Oh go Facebook yourself… we should really use this more often… it’s fun.
Facebook yeah!
See, now this is good clean fun.

“So anyway, what have you will have been gottening for us today, if I may be all futuristic pluperfect conjunctivitis?”
I am bad about stuff like that. I catch myself doing it and the little voice in my head asks, “Why are you distancing yourself from your own experiences and desires? Own them and cut out the clutter.”
I am getting better about it though. There is a couch picture you posted recently with a tall vase like planter in the corner. I have one just like that–the planter.
I took that picture in your house. Oops… I said too… look over there!
Nice try. The planter is outside full of succulents. I had an enormous pencil cactus in it at one time, but I didn’t cover it one night and the cold got to it.
You had me at “I had an enormous pencil cactus” – best unintentional euphemism ever.
Don’t start being cute this early in the morning. I have stuff to do. (winkys)
It’s never too early for cute.
Parlez-vous francais, Edward? Sprechien sie Deutsche?
Oui. Ja. Non. Nein.
Woohoo! That was one of my choices before I even read your post. Great minds think alike!
They sure do!
very cool like dat, you ARE, indeed. As I read through all the comments and even your piece it all came oout in the rap like dat. that’s what I wana do, to RAP like dat!
nice post!
Thank you again, BK – That song randomly appeared in my mind, so I included it. Or, I think people call that ‘remembering’ the song.
