This week, I wrote a poem at the last minute, realizing I was running out of time, so busy creating romance that I couldn’t write about it…plus I am kind of ill. But still in love!
Lanterns On The Horizon
I’m sorry when things don’t come out right
But I’m afraid I’m going to have to love you forever
You have no say in the matter
You might change my location
Or whether we embrace
But I cannot stop loving you
And I refuse as well
The words I write sound hollow
They don’t seem to do justice
To the way I actually feel
So when you read this
Know that my touch is required
To fully appreciate
At least some of the feeling
I intend to convey
That dock
Those lights
That sunset waits for us
Raising glasses in a toast
Raising a family
Raising our hopes
And fulfilling them
That lifetime waits for us
Those moments strung together
Like floating lanterns
On a sea of tranquility
Lighting a floating path
Towards the rising moon
That moment waits for us
Come with me and share it
My love
Edward Hotspur

Another touching poem – beautiful.
Thank you, Poly
Beautiful poem. And thank you, as always
Thank YOU for your words!
“I’m sorry when things don’t come out right
But I’m afraid I’m going to have to love you forever
You have no say in the matter”
-Oh i like this line, it seems a cross between, determinate passion and saying it as it is. Charming!:D
Thanks! I think it’s more “I might mess up and say the wrong thing, but never doubt my love for you.” But I like putting multiple meanings in, or I just write things that have multiple meanings.

I attempted a ping-back for this post – I don’t know if it worked or not…

Excellent idea
Hey there, I have a post from last week I want to contribute. Please help this sparkly girl out.
I can do that – which one is it?

Done and done!
Your writing is utterly divine! What a privilege to be in such esteemed company…Thanks for sharing your beautiful mind with the world! xo
Wow, thank you for all your kind words! I really appreciate it!
Such sound and inspiring words you have given your readers, showing them the meaning of love
I’m showing them MY meaning, not THE meaning. I’m not some kind of guru – I just know I’m going to keep doing what makes my wife happy, and she’s doing the same for me.
Well.. it should be THE meaning.
That is an incredible compliment, Lady. Thank you so much.

That poem was all sweet and romanticy. With just a little dash of silly. I did a post for RM, but I was late. I know you wanted them yesterday, so don’t worry about it. Besides, it involves a scorpion having sex with a ginger root with pictures and everything. It is like porn for people who really like animals and food. It is wrong on so many levels I can’t even begin to count them all. So, uh, good post.
That was for Romantic Monday? Yikes.
I know, but I like to mix things up a little. And romance is in the eye of the beholder… hey, who are we to judge?
I know it sounds biased, and I hate to seem bigoted, but I really intended this to be humans, at least.
I am thinking outside the box… and no, that was not a bad sex pun… maybe…
Oh my, this blew my breath away! So beautiful! Especially the ending was divine! I want to write one now, better late than never. And depending on which time zone your on, i might even be early
*you’re
on the next comment i write, i promise you a piece of love, not just some anticlimactic grammar-picking
Thank you, Daisy! I appreciate that.
I’m in Eastern, which is 5 hours behind Greenwich. So it’s about 8:36pm in London, and 3:36pm here.
Yay, that means you can still count me in!
Promised you love, here it is ;D

Beautiful, Edward. I wanna float like a lantern towards the rising moon! This made me want to cuddle up with wine and stare deep into Joe’s eyes….then makeout.
Awwwww…. And then what you do next could be next Monday’s post! ha ha ha! Kidding. Don’t write that. That is nobody’s business. No, don’t do that. Perish the thought.
What we’d do next is probably fall asleep watching a movie. Hot stuff
Yeah! Smoking! Fifty Shades of ZZZZZZZZ………
Wow…oh wow.. on a whim it seems too lol but words of beauty perfect in their humble expression of love… this is wonderful.. I said wow huh?
Lizzie, you are a wise and wonderful human being, capable of incredible writing and thoughts, so thank you for the compliment.
you’re welcome.
and thank you in return.
You can say Monday now, and you… you have a man, right? Unless you don’t want one right now.
I can say Monday.. and I can write romantic stuff which I never would have dreamed of ever sharing – and no I don’t have a man … and I am ok with it for now. I suppose when I am not I will do something about it.. I just haven;t found one who appreciates all I have to offer.. yet. the last guy I dated recently couldnt handle me..or ..something
I can assure you, you are talented, and you have a lot to offer, and a guy will be lucky to have you – and if some guy can’t keep up, can’t handle you, then he’s not the guy for you.
thanks – I think so too about the guy.. – and I finally really believe that about myself.. but its nice to hear it too
You SHOULD believe that! You are ready for a great, awesome, wonderful guy! Don’t settle for less.
I am.. and I won’t ..
Sorry, that might not have made sense. I’m a little under the weather, and under cold meds, and … you know… but you’re an amazing writer, and I love reading your stuff.
Hope you feel better.. and watch out for that Nyquil
LOL, yeah, or wine.
bottle o wine fruit of the vine… I broke into song..
I miss wine…
