This week, I wrote a poem at the last minute, realizing I was running out of time, so busy creating romance that I couldn’t write about it…plus I am kind of ill. But still in love!

Lanterns On The Horizon

I’m sorry when things don’t come out right
But I’m afraid I’m going to have to love you forever
You have no say in the matter
You might change my location
Or whether we embrace
But I cannot stop loving you
And I refuse as well

The words I write sound hollow
They don’t seem to do justice
To the way I actually feel
So when you read this
Know that my touch is required
To fully appreciate
At least some of the feeling
I intend to convey

That dock
Those lights
That sunset waits for us
Raising glasses in a toast
Raising a family
Raising our hopes
And fulfilling them
That lifetime waits for us
Those moments strung together
Like floating lanterns
On a sea of tranquility
Lighting a floating path
Towards the rising moon
That moment waits for us
Come with me and share it
My love

Edward Hotspur

-Oh i like this line, it seems a cross between, determinate passion and saying it as it is. Charming!:D

    • Thanks! I think it’s more “I might mess up and say the wrong thing, but never doubt my love for you.” But I like putting multiple meanings in, or I just write things that have multiple meanings.

  5. That poem was all sweet and romanticy. With just a little dash of silly. I did a post for RM, but I was late. I know you wanted them yesterday, so don’t worry about it. Besides, it involves a scorpion having sex with a ginger root with pictures and everything. It is like porn for people who really like animals and food. It is wrong on so many levels I can’t even begin to count them all. So, uh, good post.

  6. Oh my, this blew my breath away! So beautiful! Especially the ending was divine! I want to write one now, better late than never. And depending on which time zone your on, i might even be early ;)

  9. Beautiful, Edward. I wanna float like a lantern towards the rising moon! This made me want to cuddle up with wine and stare deep into Joe’s eyes….then makeout.
