New! Scroll Down for Logos!

ATTENTION all you lovers and romancers out there! You know who you are!

Announcing:

ROMANTIC MONDAY!

It’s a Romantic Event, a Gathering of Romantic Posts, all done on Monday!

Why do it on Monday? Because:

1) Mondays usually suck, and Romance will make everything better!

2) The weekend really lends itself to the creation of Romance, thus inspiring all of you to great blogging heights of Romance! Why? Because it’s Sweetest Day on Saturday!

3) The world could use more Romance!

So here’s what you do: Write a blog post that celebrates Romance. It can be poetry, photography, video, a fictional story, a story about that special someone, an anniversary or date you had, a lament for a lost love, or some combination of these – but it has to be Romantic, and it has to be Monday. Yes, it can be sexy or erotic if you like. Make sure to leave a comment here with a link to your story, and I’ll visit your blog with a link back to here, or you can put it in your post. I’ll add links to all your posts at the bottom of my Romantic Monday post.

That’s Romantic Monday!

I’m expecting good, Romantic, sensuous things from you! Hopefully, this can continue Every Monday, with Romance and Love everywhere! Hit us all with your best stuff! Build Romance! And then tell us about it.

    Excellent plan!

It’s gonna have to be “Mildly to moderately insane Romantic Monday” for me. As you know from reading me, I’m head over heels for my shiny new husband because he can make me spit out a mouthful of coffee or squirt milk out of my nose.

Romance is insane. If it made sense, it would be boring and robotic.

I guess you’re right about that!

Gotta be crazy! That’s why they call marriage a “commitment”

Ha ha. Damn straight. I’ve actually already started. This is very difficult. Heart wrenching….epic….prepare to be underwhelmed. But in a good way! :-D

Who’s with me? If I can be a guy for a day, or make my family super heroes, I can do this. Anyone else wanna play?

The song is Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow–
    romantic, questioning..”Tonight, with words unspoken
you say that I’m the only one…”

Awww – Surely you have one romantic story?

      • El Guapo
        October 18, 2012

Possibly. But besides my regular friday post, I think I’m mostly taking a break. Did a post I really liked declaring it.
I’ll tinker with ideas over the weekend. Maybe something will come to me.
I also threw in a link back here in tomorrows post.

Thanks! Believe it or not, I was taking it easy this week. Just reposting a few, nothing more. Didn’t work out.

I can pin the post to the top of my blog. And remind you.

You can do that. What does that even mean? You r so smart.

On the right side of your post you can make any post sticky, meaning it’s always at the top.

          • pouringmyartout
            October 19, 2012

Oh… is that how you make your blog sticky? Is that your story? Is that the one you are sticking too?…(ha)… seriously, I have no idea what you are talking about.

When you’re writing or editing a post. Upper right corner, near the publish button.

What is this “romance” thing that you speak of??? The word sounds vaguely familiar but….

    • Edward Hotspur
      October 19, 2012

It’s pretty awesome, as seen on TV. Awww, you’ve gotta have one or two romantic stories, right?

  8. benzeknees

I can sort of remember romance – I might have to watch some chick flicks this weekend just to jog my memory.

    Let’s get it ooooonnnnnnnn
Can you make me a logo with two unicorns crossing rainbow pee swords?

    • Edward Hotspur
      October 19, 2012

Sure! Great idea. But it’s not really romantic, is it? Maybe for a tiny percent of the population.

      • Nicole Marie
        October 19, 2012

        I’ll make it work.

        • Edward Hotspur
          October 19, 2012

Maybe it can be the new UPS logo. If UPS changes what it means. Who can go from romance to unicorn piss? Nicole can, that’s who.

          • pouringmyartout
            October 19, 2012

Hey, the UPS label would work for me… What can Browne do for you… get it… because my last name is… never mind…
But that unicorns crossing rainbow pee, I could so do that in Photoshop.

  13. lizziecracked
    October 19, 2012

Romance? Unexpected but sounds fun. I think I remember romance…that soft squishy thing ..ok im down. :-) good idea. Btw

I want to see what you write. It’s going to be great!

  14. pouringmyartout
    October 19, 2012

    I can’t be romantic on a freekin’ schedule… Don’t be such a love nazi…
and tell me, now that I got back on the humor topic wall, how can I make my post ‘stick’ to the top there, cause that would be something.

    • Edward Hotspur
      October 19, 2012

We don’t have a way to do that. Only the WP people can do that.

      • pouringmyartout
        October 19, 2012

But… I thought you were the master of all time and space… Next you will be telling me you are a mere human…

        • Edward Hotspur
          October 19, 2012

I am mostly human, yes. I have no knowledge of my origins. Other than when a mommy and daddy love each other very much…

          • pouringmyartout
            October 19, 2012

Please don’t spoil the surp[rise for me, I am reading a book on the mating rituals of the human species, and so far I must say I find it just a little revolting. Did you read the part of my novel where the Xxo gave birth by ripping himself in half? Funny stuff, and still less messy than the method employed here… just sayin’…

            • Edward Hotspur
              October 19, 2012

If you’re worried about mess, you’re doing it wrong. Also, the Xxo probably make somewhat of a mess when ripping themselves in half, to say nothing of the Dickheads.

              • pouringmyartout
                October 19, 2012

I talk about all of that in the birth scene.

                • Edward Hotspur
                  October 19, 2012

                  Oh boy.

                  • pouringmyartout
                    October 19, 2012

I am telling you, there is something for everyone in there. Pirates, alien breeding, assassins, dead heads, giant hybrid alien/human evil corporations, inter-dimensional invasion, alien projectile vomiting, guys pulling an alien off the tongue of a larger alien by his junk, betrayal, loyalty, friendship, evil plots and schemes… what’s not to love. And that is all just in the first quarter.

                    • Edward Hotspur
                      October 19, 2012

You’re right, there’s quite an adventure. I need to read the next 10 chapters or so.

                    • pouringmyartout
                      October 19, 2012

Yes please… but not because of my cynical plan to impress publishers with my hit stats, but because I value your opinion as much if not more than the very air that I breathe… (too much?)

                    • Edward Hotspur
                      October 19, 2012

    • Edward Hotspur
      October 19, 2012

I actually did the Unicorn one suggested by Nicole, but I kinda don’t want to put it on here. You think I should?

      • GingerSnaap
        October 19, 2012

A young, hawt, and awesome girl asks you to put up a unicorn pic and you deny her this one simple request?

        That’s my answer.

        • Edward Hotspur
          October 19, 2012

You make an excellent point. Like, a point so excellent, it’s like running into a brick wall excellent.

          • GingerSnaap
            October 19, 2012

    • Edward Hotspur
      October 19, 2012

Did you like any of the others at all?

      • GingerSnaap
        October 19, 2012

        Yessiree, I did!

I copied them already- don’t know which one I’m gonna use yet though. Probably not the unicorn pic ;)

        • Edward Hotspur
          October 19, 2012

I know – too hard to choose, and by hard, I mean either difficult or turgid.

          • GingerSnaap
            October 19, 2012

I had to look up “turgid”

1 : being in a state of distension : swollen, tumid ; especially : exhibiting turgor

2 : excessively embellished in style or language : bombastic, pompous

Yeah, both of definitions are fitting for persons or things or stuffs.

            • Edward Hotspur
              October 19, 2012

That you’ve had an effect on.

Got another lottery ticket – cross your fingers! If all goes well, Romantic Monday will morph into Shopping Spree Monday

              • GingerSnaap
                October 19, 2012

Lolzz- ok, but I’m sure you will have better things to spend your lottery winnings on than clothes for all of your lady pals!

                • Edward Hotspur
                  October 19, 2012

Of course I will! But it doesn’t mean I won’t still spend some on you.

  17. GingerSnaap
    October 19, 2012

Now, help a gurl out- how did you ‘make’/ caption the photos?

  18. pouringmyartout
    October 19, 2012

I saw most of these, but the unicorn one is new. I suppose it demonstrates romance in sort of an R Kelly sort of way…

  19. Love and Lunchmeat
    October 21, 2012

I don’t know how anyone could resist writing a romantic post after seeing that unicorn. I think I believe in magic now.

    • Edward Hotspur
      October 21, 2012

I am mystified by the evolution of the unicorn pissing rainbow. From a flippant comment, to a picture, to several posts, to search terms and slogans and identification with me, to now, a symbol of romance or some shit.

      • Love and Lunchmeat
        October 21, 2012

The unicorn comes up in your search terms??? Google is strange though. People come to my site looking for pregnancy porn. I’d say which is worse, but I’m really not sure.

        • Edward Hotspur
          October 21, 2012

Yes it does! Here’s my top 9 search terms for the day, in fact.
          red vs blue
          rainbow unicorns
          sadness
          rainbow unicorn
          voldemort funny
          1920s
          james bond parody posters
          female ninja
          red vs blue tucker

          Suck on that, Alex Trebek.

          • Love and Lunchmeat
            October 21, 2012

Red vs blue sounds suspiciously like politics, and sadness just sounds… depressing.

I’ll take female ninja for $800. It does take skills to write a quality post about female ninjas.

            • Edward Hotspur
              October 21, 2012

Red vs. Blue is a machinima series using the Halo record feature and a crapload of voice actors, including Elijah Wood this season.
Sadness is a post I wrote in January that has the first or second most views ever on my blog, depending on the week.
Female Ninjas – they’re actually Iranian female ninjas. I did a post on that sometime in February, I think.

OK, I am cracking up at what I posted on Monday, not having seen this until just now. So a C word post doesn’t count as romantic, huh?

I think this is a great idea, but I’m going to have to try for next Mon. Hopefully my aged brain can remember.
