I thought Stairway before I even read the list. My daughter can play Stairway to Heaven on piano, that’s how iconic this song is.
Oh yeah? Well I can play chess on a piano, if the lid is closed.
Oh yeah? Well I can lay across one. Sadly, I cannot sing.
I can sing. AND I can play piano. Badly. With one hand at a time. Slowly.
However, I can play a player piano extremely well.
I’m pretty good at working an upright organ.
Too bad you’ve had to use a synthesizer lately. ha ha! I kid because I care.
Mine takes batteries.
And samples.
And despite being short, I have a large pianist.
Keep in mind that you are eight and a half inches taller than me. How’s THAT for short?
You’re still taller than either of my sons.
mmmmmmmm…. QUEEN….. mmmmm…….
mama, I didn’t mean to do it, really mama…
yeah.
I love you man. Need more Zep… and Some Ronnie Montrose, but we are heading in the right direction.
Obscure. And I didn’t have room to put more Floyd, plus Deep Purple, some singer/songwriters like Simon and Garfunkel, Seals & Crofts, America, etc., and I didn’t put any punk or disco, which I certainly could have.
That’s what the write-ins are for.
Obscure can be good. But I like the post.
Gentle Giant? Van der Graaf Generator? Camel? Argent?
Not that obscure.
The thing is, we are never going to get everybody to agree on a best song from anywhen… particularly not the ones who vote for some of the ones that were popular in the 80′s.
Everyone? No, but a majority. A small majority.
I just get carried away. But a lot of people have a very high tollerance for bad music.
Bohemian Rhapsody, still one of my favorites.
Anarchy in the UK – Sex Pistols
Maybe…. but could be Changes by Bowie or Roundabout by Yes
I think the Pistols – Bowie at a push.
I guess there are some titles missing here. How about “Child in time” by Deep Purple or “Father and Son” by Cat Stevens or “Far far away”by Slade….. the list goes on and on for me! I’m an old 70th girl, lol:)
Those are fine. There are so many songs to choose from.
