This was inspired by Nicole who suggested some quiet songs to me. These are some of my favorites. I limited myself to one song per band, and ten songs. There are so many more.
The sleepy songs of twilight and night – these are the ones you listen to with a loved one by a fire, touching each other wordlessly…
Air – Universal Traveler
Enigma – Sadeness
Telepopmusik – Don’t Look Back
Zero 7 – Home
Buddha Bar – Cetacea
St. Germain – Rose Rouge
Arab Strap – Love Detective
Esthero – Superheroes
Bebel Gilberto – August Day Song
Delerium – Fallen Icons
Others: Portishead, Supreme Beings of Leisure, Bjork, Sade, etc
Enjoy

Thanks for sharing. I only know a couple of them… Very cool.
What do you like?
Out of these? Enya is my favorite..
Woohoo! Glad I Inspired a post!
I’ll have to make a list, too. Telepopmusik is one of my favorites. And Bjork’s “Hyperballad” gives me chills. You have some great musical taste!
Why, thank you! I was this close to putting Hidden Place, or Golden Cage by Whitest Boy Alive (Fred Falke Mix, of course) but I was trying to stick to 10 songs. But I linked to them here.
I guess Hunter would have been good also.
Ever hear The Deftones cover of Sade’s “No Ordinary Love”? Amazing.
Yeah it is! And Deftones’ cover of the Cure’s If Only Tonight We Could Sleep is good too. It’s hard to see in this clip if Smith and Company liked it, though. Maybe because it’s better to listen to than to watch being performed?
But I don’t wanna take a nap, uncle Ed!!!
You could just mellow out or meditate or recover from some harsh event.
I will do the tree pose for fifteen minutes.
The Jesus Christ pose?
It is like that, but without the nails.
ohhhh, how nice and interesting!
As for me, I love the songs by James Morrison or Seal to listen with a loved one…
I like sleepy songs, which aren’t necessarily soft.
